So much Salsa and so little time. L.A Sala Orchestra brought it home on Sunday night at Mama Juana’s. We spinned and cha cha’d to the quick and energetic beats of this band. It was a great way to start the week off right in Los Angeles. If you showed up early-which I rarely tend to do no matter how hard I try-you got a double treat. The evening started off with a set by Zak Astor at 6.30 p.m. I was very disappointed to have arrived to little too late and missed this much talked about up and coming local 17-yr 16-yr old artist.

Zak hung out just long enough after playing, to invoke an invitation from L.A Orchestra. Together they played a intoxicating rendition of “Cafe con Leche”. The dance floor vibrated as we all danced vigorously song after sensational song throughout the night. Every member, owned their role in this magnificent ensemble. The timbales echoed through the stage and through my spirit, as night winded down on the dance floor.
