CUCHATA Falling between the traditional and the experimental, Cuchata’s music is the very definition of Latin Alternative music. Joining afro-latin traditions with elements of rock, hip-hop, drum and bass, avante-garde jazz, afrobeat, and more, guitarist/singer/ songwriter Marcelo Quinonez and his band produce a jazz-rock infused with rhythms that point to Nicaragua, Peru and Columbia, the Caribbean-side of Central America as well as the Pampas rhythms from Paraguay and Argentina.
LA SANTA CECILIA La Santa Cecilia is a Los Angeles based band that combines up-tempo cumbia and bossa nova rhythms with the nostalgic bolero and passionate tango, blending Afro-Cuban percussion with jazzy trumpet tunes. With lead vocals delivered by the charismatic one-named Marisoul, La Santa’s colorful and fiesta-like live shows leave crowds mesmerized.
