Cuban Music Festival at Echo Park – May 23, 2010

Cubanos represented at Echo Park on May 23rd in the 16th Annual Cuban Music Festival. We arrived a little later in the day and got to catch only a couple of the performers they had scheduled. I was impressed with the variety of artists that took the stage. Ranging from poets, to dancers and of course our beloved musicos!

The food smelled delicious, but if you were in the mood for a media noche or empanadita you were going to have to do your time standing in line for a while because that crowd was hun-gry and the lines long. We made it through and devoured a few empanaditas ourselves. We danced it off with a some tunes from Rumbankete. I was glad I finally had the chance to check out this much talked about band. They kept the energetic cubanos grooving throughout the rest of the afternoon.

Loved it, looking forward to next year!
