Carla Hassett may be one of the only sexy Brazilian-American singer/songwriters in town who can claim a connection to both of the songs nominated in the “Best Song” category of the Academy Awards this year. Not only are her vocals featured in Sergio Mendes’ “Real in Rio” from the animated feature Rio, but Carla also coached Bret McKenzie for “Man or Muppet” from the The Muppet Movie.
